My Story
I am a proud born and raised Nuyorican. I grew up in the Bronx, NY and found my love of nature and flowers at the yearly NYBG Orchid Show. Every year I got to see Avant Garde designs tucked into the lush greenery of the conservatory and I wondered how I could do that.
Fast forward to now when I have taken part in 2 large floral installations on my college campus. It's not quiet the Orchid Show but it has deepened my love for flowers. I believe flowers are beautiful not just because of their appearance but the effect they have on us. Ancient Japanese designers believed arranging flowers connected us to the heavens and the earth and I couldn't agree more. Each flower is unique just like us and it makes me consider my own role on this earth.
There's also a pure joy that can only be brought on by receiving flowers and I love that I can be part of bringing that joy to people. Whether it's making everyday arrangements that one gives to a loved one, or being part of bringing to life a bride's vision on her special day, I want to help bring joy to people. It's the whole reason I want to be a floral designer for the rest of my life.
